Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to celebrating participation in the democratic process and reminding Americans to register to vote in advance of upcoming fall elections.

(09/10/2026) – Next week, the New York State Board of Elections will join with election officials, disability advocates, and organizations across the nation in celebrating Disability Voting Rights Week (DVRW) from September 14-18, 2026, as a way to reaffirm its commitment to ensuring that every eligible New Yorker can exercise the fundamental right to vote independently, privately, and with dignity.

(08/18/2026) – Last week, the New York State Board of Elections hosted and participated in four Election Security Workshops & Tabletop Exercises alongside the state’s county boards of elections, the New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services (DHSES), the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC), the New York State Department of Public Service (DPS), the New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
